Michael Caine

This is a drawing I started about a year ago.  I revisited it recently to make a few improvements with some new tools I have.

When I look at it all I can see are the flaws, but oh well, at least I drew something!

If you've never watched any old Michael Caine movies, you might not be aware that he was actually a very handsome man once upon a time.  If you need any proof, just watch Alfie, Get Carter or The Ipcress File (his character in that, Harry Palmer, is who this drawing is of).  All are great films staring the very hot Michael Caine.

Thanks for looking!  I promise more updates in the future!

Flaws???!
When it first loaded onto my computer screen I thought it was a PHOTO!!! Holy jeez, that's a great drawing! Good job!!!

And yes, he was a handsom young man. The old Harry Palmer movies are great! The Billion Dollar Brain is one of my favorites.

SO good. Oh Molly, you are so talented and gifted! You capture everyone you draw perfectly right down to the little things.. Caine has large eyes and they are a bit more separated than the average face, and you even nailed that part! I agree with Shawn too, I thought it was a photo at first!!!

Yay, I can't wait for more Molly updates!! This makes me a very happy buddy

Wow! At first I thought this was the photo you based it from.

This is incredible! Your tonals are very soft and gradual. I'd love to see you do a contour line drawing of the original, you have a klimt / schiele style, even though it's based off a photo.

Sorry if that doesn't make much sense, it's late and I am tired. But I will be back to see what else you post :P

This could not be not a photograph. And now I've just looked to see that everyone else thought it was a photograph too. Jesus H. Christ! Molly! What in the hell! That's incredible! That's not able to be credible. I can't express how floored I am by this, I didn't know human beings could even draw that well. Alien? Robot? I can't comprehend otherwise. I'm afraid of your abilities, but in a really good way.

This is far from flawed. Paul would be very proud. He wouldn't say it or anything, but he would be.

Hey, Molly, I found your blog from Nico's blog.

I always comment on this little circle of artists blogs I frequent, but I was always insecure about the fact that I can't draw. But now that I see this blog, and I see how much you've improved since you started, and how you're just putting your progress out there for your friends to see, it's inspired me to learn how to draw, too!

Thanks!
